Everyone their own pleasure, their own balanced meal
Advice to balance your menu and keep mealtimes a pleasure regardless of circumstances, your work schedule or habits.
For your sandwich:
Prefer wholegrain to white bread.
Vary pleasures by alternating ham, chicken, beef, tuna, salmon, eggs, cheese...
Salami/pâté with butter is not a good nutritional combination.
Add raw vegetables to your sandwich: lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes...
To give extra flavour add gherkins or mustard rather than mayonnaise, butter or fatty sauces.
For drinks, drink water rather than soft drinks.
For dessert, eat fruit!
Remember to stop, if not you will be less vigilant at the wheel.
Eat your fill but without excess, if not you could feel drowsy at the wheel.
If you are driving a long way, eat at your usual rhythm and not each time you stop.
Take a stroll after your meal to help digestion.
Remember, do not drink and drive.
Choose a plate of pasta or a pizza, but not both.
The least fatty pizzas are the classic ones (neapolitan, marguerita, four seasons), avoid the richer ones (4 cheeses, calzone, etc.).
Avoid adding too much chilli oil so as not to increase the fat content of your pizza.
For dessert, prefer fresh fruit, a fruit salad or sorbet rather than a tiramisu or pastry.
Chinese cuisine has several nutritional advantages:
steaming or grilling are methods using little fat,
nutritionally valuable foods such as plain rice or tea.
To accompany your dish, you can order a vegetable soup or salad.
For dessert, choose fresh fruit, fruit salad and sorbets.
Couscous or tajine are rich dishes which can comprise a whole meal in themselves. Remember to eat as many vegetables as couscous. To lighten the fat content, choose lamb or chicken kebab rather than mutton, meatballs or merguez.
As a dessert, prefer fresh fruit rather than oriental pastries, which are particularly rich in sugar and fat.
For savoury pancakes, prefer vegetable fillings tomatoes, mushrooms, onions...) or order a green salad or crudités as a side dish.
If you still want a dessert, prefer a fruit pancake rather than one with cream or chocolate.
