
While waiting for a meal to be served or for other guests to finish their course, drink some water to calm your hunger instead of eating bread and butter.
Make sure your eyes are not bigger than your stomach! Prefer a "starter + main course" or "main course + dessert" rather than a full three course meal.
Do not feel obliged to finish your dishes if you are no longer hungry.
If you have a choice, prefer wholegrain bread to white bread.
Remember to order water from the waiter. Water is indispensable at the table.
Order wine by the glass or small carafe. It will make it easier to cut down.
Only buy soft drinks occasionally. They contain up to 7 sugar cubes

Take your time and walk a little after your meal to digest better.
